We are happy to have welcomed Latrikunda Upper Basic School in our Mentoring for School Leaders Program.

Latrikunda Upper Basis School is situated in Kanifing Municipality in the Gambia. The school was established in 1963 before Gambia gained independence from the British. The school is categorized as an Upper Basic School admitting students from grade 7 to grade 9. The students are awarded with Basic Education Certificate after completion of the year performance.

The school has 2312 students and teaching of ninety-five qualified teachers. The school is headed by the principal assisted by two vice principals. They are an energetic, enthusiastic and hard-working team that is dedicated to improving the school’s operations.

They have been receiving individualized support on interventions they do in order to improve in areas of vision and mission, project based learning and modern pedagogy and continues professional development.
